Setting up a profile
The set up process for Tinder is made to be very easy. All a person needs to do is fill out a few questions and they are on their way. A person should add a photo, but that is not even required to use Tinder. That might seem like something that is a positive, but most who use Tinder think of it as a huge negative. If a person does not even need to post a photo on a dating app, how serious can it be?
The set up process also is a little bit limiting for people who are looking for something in particular. About the only thing a person can set is if they are interested in males and/or females, and age range. Tinder will go off a person’s current location to show who is available in the area, but unless a person pays for a premium feature, they can’t jump around if they are in a different location. Sorting people by interests, education and more just isn’t happening on Tinder.
There is no approval process for a new profile on Tinder, and that can be another red flag for some. Tinder has faced some scrutiny in the past for not being too proactive about people who do not use the service respectfully. It is such a big company that it is simply difficult for them to stay on top of it all even if they try.
